Breaking-News >> TodayHistory Japan's post-Yuanrong Emperor was born
Emperor Houyuanrong Later Emperor Yuanrong was named Xuren. His father was Emperor Guangyan and his mother was Nakako Hirohashi. As the eldest son of the Later Emperor Guangyan, Xuren was born at the age of 14 on March 23, the fourth year of Ying'an (1371). Yuanfu was born on the same day and ascended the throne in December of the same year. Emperor Hou Guangyan's intention to abdicate was obviously to ensure that his descendants could successfully inherit the throne as soon as possible. Similar to the dispute between Chimingyuan and Dajue Temple in the late Kamakura era, from the middle of the third year of Yingan to the end of the year, in order to allow his prince Ahito replace the prince of the late Emperor Guangyan to succeed the throne, the former emperor Sokoin kept in contact with the Muromachi shogunate. Feeling threatened, Emperor Go-kohiro sent messenger Tadamitsu Yanagara to carry out activities with the then ruler Noriyuki Hosokawa, who was in charge of the court administration, proposing that the succession of the throne should be decided by the "sacred decision"(Emperor Go-kohiro's judgment), and that the court relied on the decision of the shogunate for everything else. As a result, Emperor Kwangyan gained the support of the shogunate and won a decisive victory in the battle for the throne. The ceremony for the appointment of Prince Ohito, the Prince of Later Guangyan, was hastily held in a short period of time. On March 15th, the fourth year of Ying'an, Xuren wore a hakama. On the 21st, he was recognized as a prince by the court. On the 21st, he served in 23 yen. He was sworn to the throne that day. In just nine days, a series of etiquette from wearing a hakama to the throne was performed in one go. There was no opportunity for the Sogang Academy. After the 14-year-old new emperor Hou Yuanrong ascended the throne, the 34-year-old Hou Guangyan won began to preside over the court affairs, and the shogunate's control over the court was further strengthened. At the same time, the Chongguangyuan faction was also deprived of its right to speak on the issue of succession to the throne.
