On this day, 75 years ago, on April 25, 1950 (March 9, 1950 in the lunar calendar), fashion master Dior held his first fashion exhibition. The influential French fashion designer Christian Dior held his first fashion show at the Savoy Hotel in London. Dior was 45 years old and unknown for many years. In 1947, he launched the first revolutionary "Corolla" collection he designed to Paris and became a household name. These fashion styles were named "New Look" by the press and achieved sensational success. Dior's hallmarks are back to Edwardian costumes, wrinkled dresses, low collars and drag-length women's dresses. After the war years, when clothing was rare, he luxuriously used a variety of fabrics-one of the garments he designed was made of about 50 yards. In 1947 he was awarded the Nieman-Marcus Award.
