On this day 74 years ago, on February 12, 1951 (January 7, 1951 lunar calendar), the Ministry of Education took over Yenching University. Yan University students welcomed the speech of the Central Minister of Education, Ma Xulun, and others. After the founding of New China, the central government planned to accept schools at all levels under the rule of the Kuomintang and foreigners, so that education could be adapted to the needs of the construction and revolution of New China as soon as possible, and some were accepted one after another. In December 1950, the 65th government affairs meeting of the State Council passed a decision: "Cultural and Educational Relief Institutions and Religious Organizations Receiving Subsidies from the United States". On January 11, 1951, the Ministry of Education made specific arrangements according to the decision of the State Council, and held some meetings to emphasize the policy of New China not allowing foreigners to run schools in our country.
