January 30, 1928 War between Guangdong and Guangxi: Gui victory over Guangdong
On this day, 97 years ago, January 30, 1928 (January 8, 1928 in the lunar calendar), the Guangdong-Guangxi War: the Guangxi system defeated the Guangdong system. In early January 1928, the Guangdong and Guangxi armies fought fiercely for three days and nights at Tanluowei, northeastern Zijin, Dongjiang. A commander of Miupenem's division was killed, Huang Zhenqiu was seriously injured, and his division retreated into southern Jiangxi. The Guangxi army won and the Guangdong-Guangxi War ended. After the Guangzhou Incident in November last year, Zhang Fakui's troops of the Guangdong faction drove out the Shao Hong's troops of the Guangxi faction in Guangzhou. Zhang Fakui and Huang Qixiang were forced to flee to Hong Kong due to attacks within the Kuomintang. Their troops were under the command of Miao Penem. Huang Shaohong took the opportunity to launch an attack in the hope of returning to Guangzhou, and the Guangdong-Guangxi War broke out.
