On this day, 112 years ago, March 10, 1913 (February 3, 1913 in the lunar calendar), Tubman, a black heroine during the Civil War, passed away. On March 10, 1913, the abolitionist Harriet Tubman, a brave, illiterate farmer who helped fellow slaves escape from the "Underground Railway"(a secret transportation network that helped slaves escape) to freedom. Harriet Tubman died at her New York home at the age of 92. Tubman was born on a ranch on the eastern coast of Maryland. In 1849, he fled to the north.
