Uncle Merry Beuve-Mery, Hubert (1902~) French journalist. Born in Paris on January 5, 1902. Graduated from the Paris School of Letters and Law. He has received medals from several countries in Europe and Africa. Author of "Self-Destruction of the Fourth Republic" (1958), "Eleven Years of Reign (1958~ 1969) " (1974) and other books. 1928 - 1939 Director of the Law and Economics Section at the Institut Française in Prague Since 1934, he has served as a reporter for the French newspaper "Times" in Prague. He resigned in 1938 after opposing the newspaper's pro-Nazi stance. Joined the guerrillas against the Nazi occupiers in 1943. After the liberation of France in 1944, Le Monde was founded with the support of the government and served as its president. Resigned in December 1969. In 1970, he was awarded a prize by the British Society of Journalists. From 1970 to 1978, he served as a member of the board of directors of AFP. In 1973, he founded the Journalist Training Center and served as its chairperson. The following year, he participated in the establishment of the European Journalist Center to train young journalists from various countries.
