Edison invented the motion picture camera

On February 11, 1908, Edison received a patent for the invention of the film projector.

Under Thomas Edison, the major U.S. film production companies reached a patent agreement that would put competitors out of business forever. The agreement ended a long-running series of lawsuits and countersuits filed by Edison against other companies for infringement of his cartoon patents he obtained in 1891.
