On this day 126 years ago, on November 18, 1899 (October 16, 1899 lunar calendar), the outstanding leader of the labor movement Li Lisan was born. Li Lisan was a native of Liling County, Hunan Province, born on November 18, 1899. He joined the Communist Party of China at the age of 22. In the early days of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Li Lisan was directly involved in the initiation, organization and leadership of the labor movement. The Anyuan Road and Mine Workers' Strike led by him, Liu Shaoqi and others gave a strong impetus to the labor movement in Jiangxi, Hunan and the whole country at that time. He participated in leading the "May 30" movement that shocked China and foreign countries and the Wuhan labor movement during the Northern Expedition, and made great contributions to the anti-imperialist and anti-feudal struggles of the Chinese people. On the eve of the founding of New China, Li Lisan participated in the preparations for the restoration of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions in accordance with the instructions of the Party Central Committee. In August 1948, he was elected as the vice chairperson of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and was responsible for presiding over the daily work of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. The founding of New China marked a fundamental change in the status of the working class in our country, from the oppressed class to the leading class of the country. Under the new historical conditions, how the labor movement should be carried out is an important new issue. Li Lisan made important contributions to the development of the labor movement in New China in accordance with the principles of the Party Central Committee. He devoted himself to the organizational construction of the trade union, so that the workers across the country could quickly organize and promote the smooth development of all aspects of Li Lisan presided over the drafting of important documents and policy decrees such as the Constitution of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the Law of the People's Republic of China on Trade Unions, and the Regulations on Labor Insurance of the People's Republic of China. At the same time, he also made serious explorations in the theory of the labor movement and put forward many valuable ideas. These ideas have played a great role in the construction of the theory of the labor movement in our country. Li Lisan worked hard, tirelessly, and did not shy away from difficulties. When leading the workers' strike, the enemy offered a high reward for him many times, but he ignored his personal safety and insisted on fighting with the masses of workers. Comrade Li Lisan was also a famous propagandist. He often spoke without a script, like a rushing river, gushing endlessly. In the struggle, he dared to adhere to principles. In 1935, when Wang Ming tried to usurp the party and seize power in Moscow, Li Lisan was not afraid of the blow and resolutely resisted and exposed Wang Ming. In 1938, when the Soviet anti-insurgency movement expanded, Li Lisan was falsely accused of being a Chinese spy and illegally imprisoned for one year and nine months. However, he endured all the pain and severely refuted the various charges imposed on him. During the ten years of civil strife, under the high-pressure policies of Lin Biao and the Jiangqing counter-revolutionary group, he never said a single lie. For this reason, he was brutally persecuted and died unjustly. Li Lisan has done a lot of work for the party and the people all his life, and never cares about personal fame and fortune. When there is a mistake in his work, he is the first to take responsibility and never put the fault on others. In 1930, he once made the mistake of the "Lisan line", which he will never forget until 1956, when he carried out systematic self-criticism and review in the Eighth National Congress of the Party, which was praised by the delegates.
