469 years ago today, July 31, 1556 (June 25, 1556, the founder of the Catholic Jesuit Order, Loyola, passed away. Saint Ignatius? Loyola (St. Ignatius of Loyola)(1491-1556) was born in a Spanish aristocrat and the founder of the Catholic Jesuit Order. He studied at the University of Paris. The Jesuits were established in Paris in 1534 to oppose the Reformation and safeguard the authority of the Catholic Pope. In 1540, Pope Paul III approved the Jesuits and he was elected president. Under his chairmanship, the Jesuit Society developed extremely rapidly. By the time of his death, the Jesuit Society had about 1000 members, belonging to 12 branches. In his later years, his most important job was to draw up the charter of the Jesuit Order, which emphasized long-term and strict training of members. He believed that obeying the Pope was the "purpose and foundation" of the Jesuit order. He died on July 31, 1556, and in 1622 Pope Gregory posthumously named him "saint". Comment: Indian students admire St. Ignatius as a master. Students realize how St. Ignatius and the Jesuits have become educational pioneers around the world, thereby improving social life, and believe that feasts should be celebrated to recognize the sacrifices and contributions of the Jesuits.
