He graduated from the Physics Department of Tsinghua University in 1930 and later served as an assistant professor in the Physics Department of Lingnan University. In the same year, he returned to Lingnan University as a lecturer, and later served as associate professor and acting director of the Department of Physics. In 1940, he went to Harvard University in the United States to study for a doctorate. After receiving his doctorate in 1943, he served as a lecturer and researcher. After returning to China in 1946, he served as professor, dean of the Department of Physics and Electrical Engineering, and dean of the Department of Science and Technology at Lingnan University. In 1948, he served as provost of Lingnan University, and in 1951, he served as chairman of the Department of Physics. In 1952, he served as a member and professor of the Preparatory Committee of South China Institute of Technology. In 1955, he served as the first dean of South China Institute of Technology. In 1962 and 1979, he served twice as vice president of South China Institute of Technology. Feng Bingquan has carried out many groundbreaking research work in radio transmission technology, electroacoustics, underwater sound and other disciplines. He has published more than 20 important papers. For example,"Plate Efficiency of Strong Oscillators","Phase Angle Compensation of Strong Oscillators","A New Method for Determining the Static Characteristics of Strong Oscillators","Some Characteristics of Mutual Inductively Coupled Dual Loop Oscillators", etc. His monographs "Fundamentals of Electroacoustics" and "Radio Transmission Equipment"(Volumes 1 and 2) are used as national general teaching materials. In 1965, he compiled the important book "Theory of Oscillation". The book "Development of Radio Broadcast Transmission Equipment in Recent Years" he compiled in 1975 won the first prize in the National Outstanding Communication Technology Book of the 1983 World Communications Year. Feng Bingquan served as Vice Chairman of China Electronics Society and Chairman of the Professional Committee of Lines and Systems, Vice Chairman of China Acoustic Society, Director of China Physical Society, Chairman of Guangdong Province Electronics Society, Chairman of Guangdong Province Science and Technology Association, Chairman of Guangdong Province Physics Society, etc. Feng Bingquan was awarded the title of National Model Worker.
