On this day 95 years ago, on February 16, 1930 (January 18, 1930 in the lunar calendar), the Red Army had its first aircraft, the "Lenin". On March 16, 1930, after the Jute Uprising, over Xuanhua Shop, an enemy aircraft circled several times in the sky, and its wings tilted and landed on a river beach in Chenjiahe. This was a German double-winged Junker advanced trainer aircraft owned by Sichuan warlord Liu Xiang. On the way from Nanjing to Sichuan, the pilot got lost, and the gasoline on the plane ran out and had to fall. The pilot was Long Wenguang, who learned to fly in the Soviet Union when the Kuomintang and the Communist Party cooperated in 1927. After being captured by the Red Army of workers and peasants, he joined the Red Army and became the first pilot of the Red Army. The leaders gave the plane the resounding name "Lenin" and painted it on the wings of the plane. On the evening of August 9, 1931, the "Lenin" did fly over Wuhan for reconnaissance and demonstration, which caused panic among the enemy troops in Wuhan. The Kuomintang authorities implemented lighting control and air defense preparations at night. The "Sweeper" once disclosed such news: "The Communist'Lenin 'plane has continuously harassed Manchuan, Hankou and other places in recent days. Fortunately, we have no casualties. Now the relevant military has issued orders to all places to take strict precautions." The "Lenin" flew a few times before it was grounded due to lack of oil. Later, the enemy besieged the Dabie Mountains on a large scale. The main force of the Red Army shifted to outside operations. The "Lenin" had to bury it in the ravine. But the enemy finally found it and took it as a trophy.
