On this day 134 years ago, on May 27, 1891 (April 20, 1891 lunar calendar), Liu Bannong, a modern Chinese poet and linguist, was born. Liu Fu, formerly known as Shoupeng, changed his name to Fu, and the word Bannong, later changed to Bannong, and the name Qu'an. Born on May 27, 1891. A native of Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. Modern Chinese poet and linguist. He came to Shanghai in 1912 and served as editor of "China New Daily" and "Zhonghua Bookstore" successively. In 1917, he taught at Peking University. The following year, he participated in the publication of "Peking University Collection of National Modern Ballads". In 1920, he co-starred with Qian Xuan in "Bongda Wang Jingxuan's Book" to affirm the significance of the literary revolution. In 1920, he studied in Britain, France and other countries, and received a doctorate in French national literature in 1925. Returning to China in the autumn of the same year, he successively served as a professor at Peking University, the director of the Chinese Language Department of Sino-French University, a researcher at the Institute of History and Language of Academia Sinica, a member of the Beijing Antiquities Preservation Committee, a professor at Fu Jen University, and the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Peking University. After 1931, he served as a full-time research professor at the School of Literature of Peking University, in charge of the Department of Literature and History of the Research Institute. He died of illness in Beijing on July 14, 1934.
