The Catholic Diocese of Macau (Latin: Dioecesis Macaonensis, Portugal: Diocesano de Macau) is a diocese established in the Far East by the order of Pope Gregory XIII on January 23, 1576. The diocese is guarded by St Catherine of Siena and St Francis of Xavier, with the motto "Science and Morality"(Latin: Scientia et Virtus).

Given that the Catholic Diocese of Macau had few dioceses in Asia when it was established, its jurisdiction covers Greater China, Japan, Vietnam, and coastal islands in Southeast Asia (excluding the Philippines). Due to the subsequent dispatch of missionaries abroad, various places were gradually upgraded to quasi-pastoral areas or parishes, so the coverage now only covers Macau.

A native Chinese bishop. The cathedral is the Church of Our Lady of the Nativity, which is divided into six parishes and three quasi-parishes. There are 21 priests and 18,122 members. In the early days of the diocese, there were four major orders, including Jesuits, Franciscans, Austenians, Dominicans, and a female order. There are 8 male orders, 17 female orders, and 3 other groups. There are 81 members (52 priests) and 206 nuns.

The Catholic Diocese of Macao provides a wide range of social welfare services in Macao, including 32 organizational units such as elderly homes, orphanages, youth centers, disability centers, medical clinics, boarding, and community service agencies, affecting more than half of the population in Macao. Catholic schools in Macao are an important part of Macao's education, such as St. Joseph's Diocesan Secondary School, and established the Macao Catholic School Federation to promote the teaching of Catholic schools.
