108 years ago today, on December 20, 1917 (November 7, 1917 in the lunar calendar), the All-Russian Committee for the Suppression of Counter-Terrorism was established. On December 20, 1917, the Soviet government established the Counter-Terrorism Suppression Committee. The full name of the All-Russian Committee for the Suppression of Counter-revolutionaries is "All-Russian Extraordinary Committee for the Elimination of Counter-Revolutionaries and Declarations", and the transliteration of the Russian abbreviation is "Cheka". After the victory of the October Revolution, landlord and bourgeois elements used various means to carry out sabotage in an attempt to subvert the new proletarian regime. In order to suppress counter-revolutionaries and fight against slowers and speculators, the Soviet government established a Counter-Terrorism Suppression Committee on December 20, 1917, with Dzerzhinsky as chairman.
