On this day, 32 years ago, April 10, 1993 (March 19, 1993 in the lunar calendar), the two sides of the Taiwan Strait signed an agreement on notarization and mail inquiries. On April 10, 1993, Tang Shubei (right), Executive Vice President of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait, and Qiu Jinyi, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Taiwan Strait Exchange Foundation, initialled the "Agreement on Verification of the Use of Cross-Strait Notary Certificates" and "Agreement on Cross-Strait Registered Mail Enquiries and Compensation Matters" at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.
