On January 1, 1956, the People's Liberation Army Daily, the official newspaper of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, was officially published and distributed internally three times a week. In 1958, it was established as a daily newspaper; in January 1960, it was changed to 6 issues a week, with no newspapers on Sundays; on August 1, 1967, it was re-changed to a daily newspaper; it was publicly distributed at home and abroad since January 1, 1987.
The main tasks of the People's Liberation Army Daily: publicize Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, and Deng Xiaoping Theory; publicize the line, principles, and policies of the Communist Party of China and the orders and instructions of the Central Military Commission and various headquarters; report on the domestic and international situation and the tasks of the People's Liberation Army of China; Promote the fine traditions and heroic and exemplary deeds of the Communist Party of China and the People's Army; guide military and political training, exchange work experience, introduce advanced military scientific knowledge, and carry out criticism and self-criticism.
