Breaking-News >> TodayHistory On March 2, 1930, British writer Lawrence died
95 years ago today, on March 2, 1930 (February 3, 1930 in the lunar calendar), British writer Lawrence passed away. David Herbertlawrence (1885 - 1930) was a British poet, novelist, and essayist. Lawrence was born in 1885. His father was a miner and lacked education; his mother came from high society and had good cultivation. This cultural difference makes them often noisy. But this difference allowed Lawrence to gain rich social experience from his father and supreme care from his mother. Perhaps his mother doted on him too much, and Lawrence had a serious Oedipus complex. In a letter to a friend, he said: "We love each other almost as much as a husband and wife, and at the same time the love of a mother and son. The two of us are like one person, as sensitive to each other, and we don't need words between us. This is quite scary. It makes me abnormal in some aspects." Lawrence couldn't do anything without a woman standing behind him. "A woman I love allows me to communicate directly with the mysterious unknown world, otherwise I panicked without knowing it." Such descriptions are often found in Lawrence's works. It was because of this awareness that Lawrence had many women in his life, some of them in his dreams. His main works: "Sons and Lovers"(1913),"Rainbow"(1915),"Woman in Love"(1921), etc. His writing has the fault of preaching, but it can often be lively and smooth. However, his novels depict too much sex and abnormal psychology, which also caused some of his works to be banned shortly after their publication. On March 2, 1930, he completed a short journey of 44 years. Lawrence was the most imaginative writer. If he had not passed away prematurely, more shocking works would have been published and perhaps even banned.
