Chen Heqin

Chen Heqin, a modern Chinese educator. Born on March 5, 1892. A native of Baiguan Town, Shangyu County, Zhejiang Province. Chen Heqin died of illness in Nanjing on December 30, 1982. He was 91 years old. Chen Heqin put forward the theory of living education. Attached importance to scientific experiments and advocated that the development of children's education in China should be suitable for national conditions and in line with the laws of children's physical and mental development; called for the establishment of a teacher training system for children's education. Compiled dozens of kindergarten and primary school textbooks and children's extracurricular reading materials, designed and promoted toys, teaching aids and equipment for childish groups. Initiated the organization of groups such as the Childhood Education Research Association and the China Children's Education Society to edit publications such as "Childhood Education", "Primary School Teachers", "Living Education" and "Childhood Education Cluster" and "Collection of Papers on Childhood Education". Lifetime is mainly engaged in a series of pioneering pre-K education research and practice. In the 9th year of the Republic of China, the first child was born. From the first day, continuous observation and experiments were carried out, and detailed text and photo records were made for 808 days. In 14th year, "Research on Children's Psychology" was published, which was the earliest monograph to study children's psychology using tracking methods in our country. In response to the bad habits of dead reading and teaching dead books for thousands of years, the requirements of living reading and teaching living books were put forward, which had a great impact. His main works include "Family Education", "Research on Children's Psychology", "Kindergarten Curriculum", "The Road to Childhood Education in China", "Introduction to the History of Education", "My Half Life", etc., and co-authored "Intelligence Test Method", "Test Outline", etc., which are included in "Chen Heqin Education Essays" and have published "Chen Heqin Complete Works".
