After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, he served as commander of the Second Army of the Kuomintang Advance Second Route Army, commander of the First Corps of the Fifth Column temporarily, deputy commander of the 107th Army and commander of the 260th Division. In November 1948, Sun Liangcheng was instigated to surrender to the People's Liberation Army during the Battle of Zhunhai. Later, he was arrested while instigating Liu Ruming's uprising and was recruited as a special member of the Communist Party of China in 1948.
