Twenty-seven years ago today, on February 9, 1998 (January 13, 1998 in the lunar calendar), the first "Lu Xun Literature Award" selection was announced. On February 9, 1998, the results of the Lu Xun Literature Award (Asset News Cup) 1995-1996 individual outstanding work awards sponsored by the China Writers Association were announced. "Old House Notes" and other 6 works won the National Excellent Short Story Award, "Father is a Soldier" and other 10 works won the National Excellent Novella Award, "Love in Jinzhou" and other 15 (department) works won the National Excellent Reporting Literature Award, "Life is a Leaf" and other 8 poetry collections won the National Excellent Poetry Award, "What is a Collection of Prose" and "Weiyan Collection" and other 15 prose essays won the National Excellent Prose Essay Award, "Understanding Lao She" and other 5 articles won the National Excellent Theoretical Review Award, "Wordsworth Lyric Poems" and other 5 works won the National Excellent Literary Translation Rainbow Award. Six collections of prose essays and essays including "Where Is My Home" and translators such as Chen Zhanyuan won the Prose Essay and Literary Translation Honorary Awards respectively. The Lu Xun Literature Prize is established to encourage the creation and writing of contemporary Chinese literature and promote the development of socialist literature in our country. It includes 7 individual awards, including the National Outstanding Short Story Award, the National Outstanding Novella Award, the National Outstanding Reportage Literature Award, the National Outstanding Poetry Award, the National Outstanding Prose and Essay Award, the National Outstanding Theoretical Review Award, and the National Outstanding Literary Translation Rainbow Award, which are selected every 4 years. The Lu Xun Literature Prize is an important national literary award. According to the award plan, the individual awards of the Lu Xun Literature Prize are selected every two years. The first award will be selected from 1997. Works from 1995 to 1996 will be selected. This work has received extensive attention and support from the literary community, and the award committee for each individual award is composed of 15-20 renowned writers, theorists, critics, and editors in the literary community. The jury believes that these winning works have reached a certain level in ideology and art, and reflect the progress and achievements made in seven categories of Chinese literature from 1995 to 1996. This is a review of literary achievements after many consecutive years without national awards in most literary categories, showing the democratic, united, encouraging, and prosperous atmosphere that has gradually formed in the literary community. The winning works demonstrate the spirit of writers and literary workers to make common progress with the times, connect with the people's blood, carry forward the main theme of the times, and contribute to the construction of socialist spiritual civilization with their own quality.
