On this day, 38 years ago, on May 6, 1987 (April 9, 1987, the lunar calendar), a major forest fire broke out in the Daxinganling Mountains. On May 6, 1987, several forest farms belonging to the four forestry bureaus of Xilinji, Tuqiang, Armu and Tahe in Daxing¡¯anling Prefecture of Heilongjiang Province caught fire at the same time, causing the most serious forest fire since the founding of the People's Republic of China. According to preliminary statistics, the overfire area reached 1.01 million hectares, of which nearly 70% is forested. 614,000 square meters of houses were burned down. It contains 400,000 square meters of residential housing, 4 and a half log yards, 9 forest farms, 855,000 cubic meters of wood stored, 2488 sets of various equipment burned, and 6.5 million kilograms of grain. There are 67 bridges and culverts, 9.2 kilometers of special railway lines, 483 kilometers of communication lines, and 284.2 kilometers of power and transformation lines. More than 50,000 people were affected, 193 people were killed and 226 were injured. On May 6, 1987, a major fire broke out in four forest areas in the Daxinganling Mountains in Heilongjiang Province. The fire continued to burn for 21 days, with an area of 560,000 hectares of overburned forest. More than 30,000 people were put into fire fighting, and direct economic losses were about 500 million yuan. The direct perpetrator was Wang Yufeng. A farmer in Hebei had just worked in a forest farm for 13 days. He started cutting and igniting the gasoline on the ground, and the brush cutter also caught fire. If he took off his coat and covered it, the fire might have been put out. However, Wang dragged the machine and ran for seven or eight meters. By the time he called someone, the fire had become a crown fire that was difficult to control. When Wang Yufeng was detained, he even asked,"Can I still get my salary this month?" "Originally, this extremely large forest fire had been put out. On the morning of May 7, after a whole night of fighting, the open fire of the not-so-large fire in the Daxinganling Mountains in northeastern China had been extinguished, but the residual fire was not cleared. As a result, the fire rose at this moment and ran away. In 25 days, 1 million hectares of land and 850,000 cubic meters of stored wood were burned. This is the worst forest fire in China since 1949. Originally, fire prevention in forest areas was a major priority, but the Daxinganling forest area is an enterprise directly under the Ministry of Forestry. The local administration belongs to Heilongjiang Province, and the territory belongs to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In this way, one servant and three masters are owned by everyone, but everyone is unwilling to invest money and do their best. As a result, a lot of money was spent. There were planes in the sky and armored vehicles on the ground. Artificial rainfall was implemented and raw soil isolation zones were opened. Some people estimate that this large-scale and three-dimensional operation of the corps will cost nearly one million yuan a day just to support military supplies and logistics supplies. Someone said: "Tighten the money bag when preventing fire, but when putting out a fire, the money bag is facing down." The fire was originally extremely urgent, but some people were not in a hurry. At 21:30 on May 8, the first brigade of the Forest Police Air Transport arrived at Pangu Forestry Company, which was surrounded by fire on three sides. As soon as he got off the bus, the instructor Zhang Guohua was called to a meeting until 23:45. Several county leaders were still arguing over "where to fight, how to fight, and what to do if it cannot be extinguished." Instructor Zhang left the venue angrily and led his troops to rush to the fire scene. As a result, the fire was only tens of meters away from the ammunition depot. Three or four days after the fire was extinguished, on June 6, the State Council revoked Yang Zhong's position as Minister of Forestry and Dong Zhiyong's position as Deputy Minister of Forestry. The State Council said: When the forest fire broke out, Comrade Yang Zhong was in hospital. At the critical moment when the lives and property of the country and the people were seriously threatened, he did not adopt a positive attitude and took the initiative to deploy emergency rescue and fire fighting work. However, before that, he was discharged from the hospital several times to participate in foreign affairs activities. It was not until after criticism from leading comrades of the State Council that he had to reach the fire fighting front line on May 25, but his performance was negative. During this period, Comrade Yang Zhong did not make any self-criticism or self-review. He only made a statement inspection after repeated criticisms by leading comrades of the Central Committee and the State Council. On February 27, 1950, a biogas explosion occurred in Xinyu Coal Mine in Henan Province, killing and injuring 200 people.
