On this day, 27 years ago, on February 18, 1998 (January 22, 1998, the 22-country (region) group was established. On February 18, 1998, representatives from 22 countries and regions met in Washington to discuss issues related to the Asian financial crisis, thus forming the Group of 22 (regions). The group includes major developed and developing countries and regions in the world, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, China Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
