The next day, he was suddenly attacked by Wu Zongyu, the commander of the Qing patrol camp. Ni Yingdian was shot and died. He was only 26 years old. The rebels retreated in flight, killing more than 100 people, arresting more than 100 people, and withdrawing to Hong Kong. The uprising failed. Later, he served as the commander of the 31st Mixed Association Artillery Battalion, and planned an uprising with Xiong Chengji and others. After the incident broke out, he evaded arrest and went to Zhao Sheng, Guangdong. After Zhao Sheng introduced him to join the Alliance, changed his name to Ni Duan, and served as trainee platoon leader of the New Army Artillery Corps. In 1909, the revolutionaries in Guangdong prepared to rise. In February of the following year, due to the conflict between the new army and the police station, the crowd was furious, and he decisively decided to uprising in advance. On February 12, Qi Ruhan was knocked down and led his troops to attack the city. He was captured and died due to his injured horse. In 1912, he was posthumously awarded the title of general of the army by the Nanjing Provisional Government.
