On this day 95 years ago, on March 19, 1930 (February 20, 1930), British Prime Minister Arthur Balfour died. Arthur James Balfour, 1st Earl Balfour, KG, OM, PC (25 July 1848 - 19 March 1930), a British Conservative politician, served as Prime Minister from 1902 to 1905, during which his government was divided over tariff reform issues. Balfour served as Foreign Secretary from 1916 to 1919 in his later years, and issued the Balfour Declaration of 1917, which supported the establishment of Jewish settlements in the homeland of Palestine.
