It was reported that this patient, male, 34 years old, was from Gan County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. He was a staff member of a company in Dongguan city, Guangdong Province. He had a history of travel to Venezuela before the onset of the disease. The patient developed fever with dizziness and headache in Venezuela on January 28. He received outpatient treatment in a local hospital. He then set off from Venezuela on February 2 and passed through the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of my country and Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. He arrived in Gan County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province on the 5th. He was admitted to the Infectious Diseases Department of Gan County People's Hospital for isolation treatment on the 6th. On the 9th, an expert group organized by the National Health and Family Planning Commission confirmed the case as the first imported Zika virus infection in my country based on the patient's epidemiological history, clinical manifestations and the results of the review and testing of patient specimens by the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention. At present, the patient is still receiving isolation treatment in Gan County People's Hospital. His body temperature is normal, his rash has subsided, and his condition has improved significantly. China Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Health and Family Planning Department of Jiangxi Province organized experts to evaluate the risk of transmission caused by imported cases. Experts believe that Zika virus disease is a mosquito-borne disease, mainly infected through the bite of Aedes mosquitoes; Jiangxi Province is not the main distribution area of Aedes mosquitoes. It is currently in late winter and early spring, and no mosquito vector activity has been found. In Guangdong Province, the temperature has been low recently and the Aedes mosquitoes has not yet entered the active period. Therefore, the risk of transmission and further spread by this imported case is extremely low. At present, the National Health and Family Planning Commission is guiding the Health and Family Planning Commission of Jiangxi, Guangdong and other provinces to implement various prevention and control measures in accordance with relevant diagnosis and treatment plans and prevention and control requirements to strictly prevent the spread of the epidemic. The relevant situation of this case has been notified to the World Health Organization and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of my country in a timely manner. Experts remind that if the public recently travels to countries and regions where Zika virus epidemics have occurred, they should pay attention to personal protection. Once symptoms such as fever, rash, and muscle and joint pain appear, they should go to a medical institution in time and proactively inform medical staff of relevant travel history. The Zika virus disease diagnosis and treatment plan announced by the National Health and Family Planning Commission pointed out that the bite of virus-carrying Aedes mosquitoes is the main route of transmission of Zika virus disease. The main vector of transmission is Aedes aegypti, and Aedes albopictus, Aedes africanus and Aedes flavicephalus may also spread the virus. It can also be transmitted through mother-to-child, including intrauterine infections and infections during childbirth. According to monitoring, the main Aedes aegypti species related to the spread of Zika virus in my country are Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Among them, Aedes aegypti is mainly distributed in Hainan Province, Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong Province, and Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Dehong Prefecture, Lincang City and other areas in Yunnan Province; Aedes albopictus is widely distributed in vast areas south of Hebei, Shanxi, and Shaanxi in our country. The incubation period of Zika virus disease is not yet clear, and available data show it to be 3 to 12 days. After people infected with Zika virus, only 20% develop symptoms, and the symptoms are mild. The main manifestations are fever and rash, which may be accompanied by non-suppurative conjunctivitis, muscle and joint pain, general fatigue and headache. A few patients may experience abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, mucosal ulcers, skin itching, etc. Symptoms persist for 2 to 7 days and the prognosis is good. Severe cases and deaths are rare. Infections in children can also show changes in the nervous system, eyes and hearing. Infection with Zika virus in pregnant women may lead to neonatal microcephaly and even fetal death. The National Health and Family Planning Commission requires that local health and family planning administrative departments, especially port area health and family planning departments that have personnel exchanges with places where the epidemic occurs, to attach great importance to the prevention and control of the Zika virus epidemic and preparation for medical treatment, and strengthen cooperation with port health quarantine, transportation, etc. Communication and linkage with departments to effectively implement various prevention and control measures to ensure the safety of people's lives. Key provinces such as Guangdong, Hainan, and Yunnan should strengthen environmental sanitation improvement, carry out timely and effective anti-mosquito work, and reduce the risk of spread of mosquito-borne diseases.
