Gaozong of KoreaLi Xi(1852-1919) The word Shenglin was originally named Zaihuang, the word Mingfu, and the name Chengxuan. Zhe Zong Li Shengxing Xuan Grand Yuan (Li Qiying) Second son, reigned from 1863 to 1907. Tetsuzong died, childless, and Fangyi Zong. He ascended the throne on December 13, 1863. Due to his young age, his biological father, Dayuan Jun Li Weiying, was in charge of government affairs. In 1873, Gaozong turned 21 and declared that he was in power. In 1894, the Sino-Japanese Peasant War broke out in Korea. The Korean government notified the Qing Dynasty and requested troops. This was the beginning of the Sino-Japanese War. The Japanese army quickly captured Seoul (June 21) on the eve of the war between China and Japan, took control of the king, and forced him to return to Dayuan-kun. On June 23, the newly formed pro-Japanese Korean government announced that it would abrogate all treaties signed with the Qing Dynasty, and North Korea would rely on the Japanese army to expel the Qing army from Korean territory. On July 17, 1907, pro-Japanese Li Wanyong and other seven ministers forced Gao Zong to abdicate. On July 19, under the strict supervision of Japanese soldiers, a Zen ceremony was held in the Zhonghe Hall of Qingyun Palace. Crown PrinceLi YanHe ascended the throne for the pure sect.
