Gao Yuanjun lived on the streets begging and singing in his childhood. He deliberately sought innovation on the basis of absorbing the essence of folk art, making this art move from folk to the stage, and becoming the founder of Shandong Kuaishu's "high-school" art. He created and performed famous passages praising folk heroes of past dynasties such as "Wu Song Beat the Tiger","Wu Song Chases the Meeting","Lu Da Eliminates the Overlord", as well as "A Car of Sorghum Rice","Scouts", and "Battle in the Sky".
