War criminal and Japanese diplomat Hiroyuki Hirota was born

Hiroyuki Hirota (1878-1948) was the 32nd Prime Minister of Japan. He was born on February 14, 1878 in the forge town of Fukuoka-gun, Tsukimae. After his birth, he was named Shotaro. In the 32nd year of Meiji Dynasty, Shotaro, who was studying at the First High School, took the initiative to change his name to Shotaro, citing the section "A scholar must not be without Hiroyuki" in his favorite "The Analects of Confucius". In 1905, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Imperial University in Tokyo. In 1906, he passed the examination for diplomats and consular officers as the first person. In 1907, he was resident in the Qing Dynasty. In 1929, he attended the 10th Congress of the In 1933, he served as Foreign Minister of Minoru Saito's Cabinet. In 1934, he served as Foreign Minister of Okada's Cabinet. In 1936, he served as Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. In February 1937, he resigned. In 1946, he was tried by the Far East Military Tribunal as a war criminal against China. He was the only civilian among the seven people sentenced to capital punishment. He was hanged on December 23, 1948, at the age of 71.
