Breaking-News >> TodayHistory Russian physicist Popov's birthday
On March 16, 1859, Alexander Stapanovich Bobov (1859-1906) was born in the Urals. He entered Petersburg University in 1977 and taught at the Russian Naval Torpedo School after graduation. Since he realized the importance of electromagnetic waves, he began to work on finding ways to receive electromagnetic waves from a long distance. In 1895, he invented a radio receiver for electromagnetic waves emitted from the huge sparks that formed lightning. In 1898, he worked with the Russian Navy to communicate between ships and the coast at distances of more than 10 kilometers. The following year it increased to about 50 kilometers. Although Bobo's experiment is acknowledged, it is not acknowledged that he invented radio communication. The evidence given is that Marconi (an Italian physicist) conducted experiments to transmit wireless telegrams earlier than him. However, in Russia, he is regarded as the inventor of radio. On January 13, 1906, Bobo died of illness. Keywords: March 16, 1859, Russia, Popov, physicist News raw data sources → https://today.help.bj.cn/show/?id=4702 17WorldNews[2025.09.28-06:52] 访问:70
