Fifty years ago today, on March 17, 1975 (February 5, 1975 in the lunar calendar), the last batch of prisoners of war were pardoned. The pardoned people left for Beijing. On March 17, 1975, Zhou Enlai, in accordance with the instructions of the Party Central Committee and Mao Zedong, put forward a proposal to pardon all prisoners of war. After discussion at the second meeting of the Standing Committee of the Fourth National People's Congress, it was decided to grant amnesty to all prisoners of war. This decision is enforced by the Supreme People's Court. This time, 293 war criminals were pardoned. At this point, all the war criminals in custody have been dealt with.
