Hsieh Tung-min Xie Dongmin was born in a prosperous family, formerly known as Xie Jinxi. His father originally cultivated and farmed in the Zhuoshui River and later went into business. Primary school attended Ershui Public School. In 1922, he was admitted to the Public Taichung Higher and General School. In the second year after Xie Dongmin was admitted to the school, he changed his name to Taichung State Taichung No. 1 Middle School, or Taichung No. 1 Senior High School. In middle school, Xie Dongmin was dissatisfied with the Japanese colonial rule, so he had the idea of returning to his motherland-China to study. In 1925, Xie Dongmin went to Guangzhou to study. After graduating from the Department of Political Science at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, Xie Dongmin wrote manuscripts in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and other places to make a living. Xie Dongmin's younger brother, Xie Minchu, served as the general manager and chairperson of the Taiwan Green Fruit Distribution Cooperative, and is currently the chairperson of the Practice University. His son, Dr. Xie Mengxiong, served as the second "supervisory committee", the "examination committee member of the Examination Institute", the president of Taipei Medical College, and is currently the president of the Practice University. Daughter-in-law Lin Chengzhi, wife of Xie Mengxiong, served as the chairperson of the "Executive Yuan Cultural Construction Committee" and the vice chairperson of the Chinese Kuomintang. In 1942, Xie Dongmin, who worked in Guilin's Guangxi Daily, was invited to participate in the preparations for the Taiwan Provincial Party Department of the Chinese Kuomintang. From 1943 to 1945, Xie Dongmin engaged in anti-Japanese activities in Zhangzhou, Yong'an, Fuzhou and other places. In 1945, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression ended. Xie Dongmin, who had lived in the mainland of China for 20 years and more than 6 months, returned to Taiwan with the fleet taken over by the Republic of China government in his capacity as a Banshan. Accompanying him were Lian Zhendong and others. Later, he served as chairman of the Kaohsiung State Takeover Committee. Since then, he has successively served as the first county magistrate of Kaohsiung County, deputy director of the Civil Affairs Department of the Chief Executive's Office of the Taiwan Provincial Government, deputy director of the Education Department of the Taiwan Provincial Government, president of the Taiwan Provincial Teachers College, and chairman of the Taiwan New Life Newspaper. Chairman, deputy director of the Taiwan Youth National Salvation League, deputy secretary-general of the Central Party Department of the Kuomintang Party of China, secretary-general of the Taiwan Provincial Government, member of Taiwan Province, deputy speaker and speaker of the Taiwan Provincial Assembly. In 1972, he served as the ninth chairman of the Taiwan Province government, and in 1978, he served as the sixth deputy leader of the Taiwan region. After the deputy leader stepped down, he was hired as a "Senior Minister of the Presidential Office" until his death. On October 10, 1976, during the "Double Ten Festival", Xie Dongmin received a bomb parcel sent by Wang Xingnan, a participant in the Taiwan "independence" movement, and injured his left hand when unpacking. The hospital was afraid of causing sepsis and operated to remove Xie Dongmin's left hand and install a prosthetic limb. In view of the fact that his family is the foundation of the country, Xie Dongmin must first improve his family if he wants the country to be prosperous and the people's livelihood to be prosperous. Therefore, he decided to establish a home economics school in 1957. On March 26, 1958, he established the first home economics school in Taiwan-Private Practical Home Economics College.
