On this day, 28 years ago, April 11, 1997 (March 5, 1997 in the lunar calendar), Peru announced its withdrawal from the Andean Community. The Andean Community (referred to as "Andean Community") was established in May 1969 and is headquartered in Lima, the capital of Peru. Originally known as the Andean Group, the Andean Integrated System was established on September 5, 1995 and changed to its current name in March 1996. Panama is a permanent observer state. On April 11, 1997, Peru announced its withdrawal from the Andean Community. In January 1997, the meeting of foreign ministers of the five countries expressed support for Peru's position on the "hostage incident." From April to June, Peru once announced its withdrawal from the ANCC due to a serious trade deficit with other member states and large differences with other members on the issue of common tariffs.
