Eugène Edine Pottier (October 4, 1816-November 6, 1887) was a French poet and political activist. Born in a carpentry family on October 4, 1816, he worked for a living at the age of 12 and began to practice ballads. In the July Revolution of 1830, he wrote his debut novel "Long Live Freedom". During the July Dynasty, he worked in various professions such as carpentry and calico pattern painter. He came into contact with socialist ideas and wrote poems such as "It's Time for Everyone to Have Their Own Part" and "Easter Egg", demanding equality and calling for struggle. He participated in the February Revolution of 1848 and quickly recognized the reactionary nature of the February Republic. In "The Old House That Should Be Demolished", he compared it to a hierarchical house, called "It's time to demolish it", and devoted himself to the June Uprising. Progressive activities during the Second Empire, criticizing the imperial government with poetry; joined the Paris branch of the First International in 1865. After the fall of the Second Empire, he put forward the slogan "Establish a Red Commune" in his poem "October 31, 1870". During the Paris Commune in 1871, Baudier served as a member of the Commune and a member of the Commune's Social Services Committee, fighting to defend the Commune until the last day of the "Blood Week" in May. In June of the same year, he wrote "The Song of the World's Proletarians"-"The Internationale", which artistically summarized the principles of Marxist revolution and the historical experience of the Paris Commune. In July, he was forced to flee and lived in exile in Britain and the United States for nearly 10 years.; After an amnesty in 1880, he returned to China and joined the French Socialist Workers 'Party.
