Chen Jiongming On January 15, 1925, the Guangdong Revolutionary Government issued a declaration of the Eastern Expedition and sent troops to crusade against the rebel Chen Jiongming. On November 15, Chen Jiongming took the opportunity of Sun Yat-sen to go north to Beijing and proclaimed himself the "Commander-in-Chief of the Guangdong Army".
