On February 21, 1935, the founder of the Northwest Red Army and the Shaanxi revolutionary base of Shenyang died.
Today, 90 years ago, on February 21, 1935 (January 18, 1935 in the lunar calendar), Xie Zichang, the founder of the Northwest Red Army and the revolutionary base area in northern Shaanxi, died. Xie Zichang, like Xie Zichang, was born in 1896 in Anding, Shaanxi (now Dingxi, Gansu). Joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1924. After the defeat of the first civil revolutionary war, he led the uprising in Qingjian and other places. In 1928, he and Liu Zhidan revolted in Weihua, established the Northwest Revolutionary Army, served as the captain of the second team, and later served as the commander-in-chief of the Shaanxi-Gansu Workers' and Peasants' Guerrillas. The revolutionary base area in the Shaanxi-Gansu Border Region was opened up. In 1932, he was appointed as chairman of the Northwest Revolutionary Committee. In 1934, he was wounded in the war against encirclement and suppression. He died the following year.
