Emperor Go-Nara (January 26, 1497-September 27, 1557) was unable to hold the throne ceremony due to the extreme lack of royal finances. Therefore, it was not until ten years later, in 1536, when funds were pooled by the famous Warring States names such as the Go-Hojo clan, Ouchi clan, and Imakawa clan. The throne ceremony was held. The royal family was so poor that they even had to sell the emperor's handwriting to make money. The emperor's handwriting was very easy to obtain at that time. However, it is said that the emperor is also a compassionate person. When there are plagues, floods and famines, he prays that the people can be safe. He died in 1557 and was buried in Shincao Beiling.

In April of the ninth year of Yongzheng (1512), he was granted the title of Prince, and in April of the sixth year of Dayaga (1526), his father, Emperor Shibashihara, died. Because there were only a mere 600 strings of coins to be honored and buried, the ceremony to be held hastily twenty-second days after the death of the late emperor. The transfer ceremony of three divine artifacts, including sword and jade seal, was omitted. In the same year, Kenji Yanamoto, a local tycoon in Danbo, rebelled, and the emperor's accession ceremony was forced to be postponed. In the following year, the regime of Hosokawa Gaoguo collapsed in the Battle of Baiyukawa, the general fled to Mijiang, and the shogunate became the regime in exile.
In the summer of the second year of Astronomy (1533), the emperor sent an imperial imperial envoy to Kanto, asking for donations from major names such as Imagawa, Beijo, Asakura, and Nagao. As a result, only Yitaka Onei of Zhoufang made a huge donation of 2,200. The imperial court was both surprised and happy, and the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Nara was finally held after February of the fifth year of Astronomy. Thankful for the merits of the Onei family, the imperial court promoted him to the title of Great Master. After that, the power of the shogunate decreased day by day, and the major names became princes who ruled various places. The imperial court was able to survive in the troubled times by selling his position to obtain donations.

At this time, the general Yoshiki Ashikaga lived in seclusion in the Deadwood Valley of the Omi River, and the leader of Hosokawa Harumoto's escape from Wakasa.
