Wu Dayou (1907-2000), a native of Gaoyao, Guangdong Province, graduated from Nankai University and was born on September 29, 1907. He is a famous physicist and known as the father of physics in China. He has devoted his life to scientific research and education, made significant contributions to the development of science in China, and enjoys a high reputation in the world physics community. On March 4, 2000, Wu Dayou died of illness at National Taiwan University Hospital.
