38 years ago today, on December 10, 1987 (October 20, 1987 lunar calendar), the Beijing-Tianjin-Tang Expressway started construction. After the completion of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tang Expressway On December 10, 1987, the opening ceremony of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tang Expressway was held in Daxing County, Beijing. The Beijing-Tianjin-Tang Highway is one of the key construction projects during the "Seventh Five-Year Plan" period of our country, and it is also the first expressway in our country to use the World Bank loan to invite tenders through international competition. In the invited tenders, a total of 32 contractors from 12 countries and regions participated in the bidding, and finally China, Japan and the Sino-French Commonwealth won the bidding. The expressway starts near Shibalidian in the southeast corner of the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing and connects with the Fourth Ring Road. It ends near Xiaoxintan, Tanggu District, Tianjin. It intersects Hebei Road and is 142.69 kilometers long. It will be built into a fully enclosed, fully interchange and toll-type expressway. It is planned to be completed in 1990. By then, the driving speed will reach 120 kilometers per hour.
