Texas declares its secession from Mexico to form the Republic of Texas

Texas Revolution
On March 2, 1836, the Texas Revolution declared Texas' independence from Mexico and established the Republic of Texas.
The Republic of Texas (1836-1845), also known as the Lone Star Republic, was a short-lived state whose scope in modern times roughly corresponded to the state of Texas in the United States. The northern boundary was defined in 1819 by the West American Treaty of Adams-Onis: The Republic of Texas was between the United States and Spain. Its southern and western boundaries were disputed with Mexico, which claimed the Rio Grande River in the state of Rio, and Mexico claimed the Niuecis River in the state of Rio. After the merger of Texas, the dispute triggered the Mexican War between Mexico and the United States.
Before Mexican independence, Texas was part of the colony of New Spain in 1821. Until Texas became independent, Texas was part of Mexico (as part of the state of Coahuila y Tejas). From the 1820s, a large number of American immigrants arrived in Texas. On December 20, 1835, Texans signed the first declaration of independence in Gorillas. Texas officially declared independence on March 2, 1836. The Republic of Texas was established.
Four days later, after a two-week offensive, General Santa Ana, Mexico's dictator at the time, annihilated some 2,000 Texans who held the Alamo. ("Remember the Alamo" became the slogan for Texas independence.) On April 21, 1836, near San Jacinto, General Sante Ana's Mexican army was defeated by 800 Texans led by General Sam Houston. 1,600 Mexicans were killed or captured, and General Sante Ana himself was captured. Only nine Texans were killed. The decisive battle resulted in the true division of Texas from Mexico.
