Schopenhauer was born on February 22, 1788. He is known as a "pessimistic philosopher." He was an opponent of Hegel's absolute idealism and a pioneer of the new philosophy of "life". He is very sensitive to the suffering of the world, so his outlook on life has a strong pessimism tendency. Dedicated to the study of the works of the philosophers Plato and Kant, contemptuous of Fichte, Schelling and Hegel. His life was not successful and he lived in seclusion before gaining fame a few years before his death.

Schopenhauer published his important book "The World of Will and Representation" in 1819, which is divided into four volumes, including: epistemology, natural philosophy, aesthetics and ethics. This book marks the culmination of the development of Schopenhauer's thought. Although he was disappointed by the cold reception he received from his contemporaries, he believed firmly in the final victory of truth. He believed that "the truth can be waited for because it lasts for a long time." After 19 years of "silent indignation," he published a short paper "On Will in Nature" in 1836. Schopenhauer's article deftly uses doubts and discoveries in the rapidly developing natural science to defend his theory of will. In the preface, he publicly criticized the "liar" Hegel and his gang severely. However, it was not until after 1853 that Schopenhauer's philosophy was valued by the world.

He died of illness on September 21, 1860.
