Pei Wenzhong (January 19, 1904-September 18, 1982) Pei Wenzhong was born in Fengnan County, Hebei Province in 1904, and his courtesy name was Minghua. Graduated from the Department of Geology of Peking University in 1927. In 1937, he received his doctorate of science from the University of Paris, France. The founder of Paleolithic archaeology and Quaternary mammalology in China, one of the founders of Chinese paleoanthropology, and the discoverer of the first complete skull fossil of Beijing Man. In 1929, the first skull of Chinese ape-man was discovered in Zhoukoudian. This discovery is of great value to the study of world paleoanthropology, and it is one of the founders of Paleolithic archaeology, Quaternary geology and mammal research in China.
