On February 28, 1998, Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall opened in Tianjin
Twenty-seven years ago today, on February 28, 1998 (February 2, 1998 lunar calendar), Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall was opened in Tianjin. Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao spent their teenage years in Tianjin, where they met, knew each other, loved each other and embarked on the revolutionary road together. The two great men always regarded Tianjin as their second hometown. Before their death, they left wills to scatter their ashes in the mountains and rivers of the motherland and the Haihe River in Tianjin. In memory of Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao's great achievements and noble character for generations to come, the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government have reported to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for approval to establish the Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao Memorial Hall in Tianjin. On the occasion of commemorating the centennial of Zhou Enlai's birth - the museum was grandly opened on February 28, 1998. The memorial hall is located on the north side of Tianjin's beautiful water park. It covers an area of 60,000 square meters and has a construction area of 7,150 square meters. It is a garden-style memorial hall for great men. The museum has rich collections and precious cultural relics. More than 8,000 cultural relics, documents, photos and other materials have been collected, and more than 100 treasures have been collected.
