The Paris Conference on Vietnam was held on February 26, 1973
52 years ago today, February 26, 1973 (January 24, 1973 in the lunar calendar), the Paris Conference on Vietnam was held. An international conference on Vietnam was held in Paris, France from February 26 to March 2, 1973. Countries participating in the meeting were: China, the United States, the Soviet Union, France, Hungary, Indonesia, Poland, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Southern Vietnam and Saigon regime. United Nations Secretary-General Waldheim also attended the meeting. The meeting signed the "Resolution of the International Conference on Vietnam." The resolution recognizes, approves, supports and respects the "Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam" signed in Paris in January 1973 by representatives of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Southern Vietnam, the United States and the Saigon Regime and related four protocols,"solemnly recognize and completely equal the basic national rights of the Vietnamese people, namely, Vietnam's independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and the right to self-determination of the people of southern Vietnam."
