So Gu Sui first went to Beiyang University to specialize in English at the preparatory school, and two years later transferred to the English Department of Peking University. At Peking University, he gained a good understanding of Western language and literature. In the summer of 1920, he graduated and started attending Qingzhou Middle School in Shandong Province. In 1926, he taught at Tianjin Women's Normal University. He used Lu Xun's thoughts to point out the way for students. Thanks to his guidance, many students embarked on the road of revolution. In 1929, Gu Sui successively taught at Yanjing, Peiping, China-France, Beijing, China, Furen, Beijing Normal University and other universities. Gu Sui was a loyal child to the motherland and people all his life. When Beijing was peacefully liberated in 1949, he began to teach in universities and worked in Tianjin in 1953. His spirit was unprecedentedly bright and his enthusiasm for work was very high, but his health was getting worse. On September 6, 1960, Gu Sui died at his residence at Hebei University on Machang Road, Tianjin. In 1990, Mr. Gu Sui's disciples and disciples in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and other places gathered in Beijing to hold a "Commemorative Meeting to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Mr. Gu Sui's Death". After the meeting, a commemorative anthology was printed and published. In 1997, the Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University, the Chinese Department of Hebei University, the Beijing Normal University Alumni Association, and the Furen University Alumni Association jointly held the "Centenary Birthday Commemorative Meeting of Mr. Gu Sui" and "Commemorative Exhibition" in Beijing. The "Collected Works of Mr. Gu Sui's Centenary Birthday Commemorative" has been published by Hebei University Press. Gu Sui has taught ancient China literature at Hebei Women's Normal University, Yanjing University, Fu Jen Catholic University, China and France University, China University, Beijing Normal University, Hebei University, Women's College of Arts and Sciences, China and France University, and China University. For more than 40 years, peach and plum trees have been around the world, and many of his disciples have long been well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad.
