On this day, 42 years ago, on February 16, 1983 (January 4, 1983 in the lunar calendar), Lei Yushun, a famous meteorologist in our country, passed away. Lei Yushun is like Lei Yushun. He was born in 1935 in Tongchuan, Shaanxi Province. Graduated from the Department of Geophysics at Peking University in 1965. He once served as assistant researcher, director of the Office and associate researcher of the Institute of Meteorological Sciences of the National Meteorological Administration. Joined the Communist Party of China in 1953. He has presided over the application of energy meteorology theory to the research of severe convective weather such as heavy rain and hail, forming a set of more effective weather analysis and prediction methods. This research was awarded the Achievement Promotion Award by the State Science and Technology Commission and the State Agricultural Commission in 1982. He is the author of "Energy Meteorology" and the editor-in-chief of "Introduction to Hail". He died on February 16, 1983.
