Wang Jiangmin was "a pioneer in the field of antivirus security" in the Chinese mainland, said Huang Qishan, a veteran of the Chinese mainland Internet. Wang Jiangmin was born in Shanghai in 1951. He suffered from polio at the age of three, and his legs have since been disabled. After graduating from junior high school, Wang Jiangmin returned to Shandong to teach himself mechanical and optoelectronic knowledge. In 1979, he was awarded the title of pacesetter of the new Long March for his achievements in lasers. In 1988, Wang Jiangmin taught himself computer and programming, and soon became an expert in computer security in China. In 2003, Wang Jiangmin relied on KV antivirus software to enter the top 50 of China's IT rich list. On the morning of April 4, 2010, Wang Jiangmin died of a heart attack while fishing in Xinxiang Fish Pond in western Beijing. He died at 9:20 in Beijing at the age of 59.
