In 1912, he instructed Chen Huanzhang to organize the Confucian Church in Shanghai and initiated the activity of "establishing Confucianism as the state religion". In 1917, he planned the restoration in Zhang Xun, and Fupu Yi "ascended the pole". He was appointed as the deputy dean of the Bide Institute, but he failed immediately. He hid in the US Embassy in China for nearly half a year, and then scattered all over the country. Kang Youwei is the author of "New Learning Apocrypha Examination", "Confucius Reform Examination", "Wushu Tou Draft", "Li Note", "Notes on the Mean" and "Mr. Kang Nanhai's Poems" Kang Youwei spent the last 15 years in the apartment life of building villas, taking concubines to his heart's content, and visiting the mountains and rivers. Kang Youwei was in good health in his later years. He traveled all over the country on both sides of the Yellow River and visited dozens of famous mountains. Among them, the trip to Kuanglu and Zhongnan Mountain best reflected his political frustration. On March 8, 1927, Kang Youwei completed his 70th birthday in Shanghai and arrived in Qingdao on the 21st. On the evening of the 30th, a fellow villager from Guangdong invited him to dinner.
