On this day, 45 years ago, on March 27, 1980 (February 11, 1980 in the lunar calendar), Changbai Mountains, Wolong, and Dinghu Mountains were included in the International Biosphere Reserve. Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve Changbai Mountain is located in the southeast of Jilin Province and partially in North Korea. The highest peak of the mountain is 2749 meters above sea level. Changbai Mountain is high and cold. There is snow on the mountain all year round, and no vegetation grows. Looking at it from the white, hence the name Changbai Mountain. From the foothills of Changbai Mountains to the top of the mountain, you can see different types of plants from temperate to cold. The hierarchical distribution of plants is very clear. At the foot of the mountain, there is mainly broad-leaved forest; upwards, up to an altitude of about 1000 meters, there is a mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest. In this mixed forest belt, there are many varieties of trees, and the wind, frost, rain and snow in different seasons make the landscape of the forest changeable and diverse. Between 1000 and 1800 meters above sea level, there is a taiga forest belt. There are high mountains and dense forests here, and various coniferous trees with the most economic value grow. These trees have straight trunks and full of vitality. Further up to nearly 2000 meters is the Yuehua Forest Belt. In order to adapt to the harsh climate of cold and humid mountains, Yue Birch has a short, curved trunk with many branches, and its bark joints and markings are very interesting. Above more than 2000 meters, there are no trees. It is a moss zone. Every year in June and July, flowers of various colors bloom in this area, and the scenery is magnificent. Wolong Nature Reserve Wolong Nature Reserve is located in Wenchuan County, including Wolong and Gengda townships. It is a special zone directly under the jurisdiction of the provincial government. The area is 52 kilometers long from east to west and 62 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of about 700,000 hectares. Wolong Reserve is located at the eastern foot of the Qionglai Mountains, in the alpine canyon area of the transition zone between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Sichuan Basin. There are 101 high mountains above 5000 meters, and the highest peak, Siguniang Mountain, is 6250 meters above sea level. The lowest altitude in the ditch is 1150 meters, and the relative height difference is 5100 meters. Here, peaks overlap, clouds and clouds are shrouded in, and virgin forests, secondary shrubs, and arrow bamboo forests are lush and lush. There are 3,000 to 4,000 species of various plants in the reserve, including Sichuan Sequoia, Money Maple and other precious plants; There are more than 50 species of mammals and more than 300 species of birds. There are 29 species of precious animals under national protection. Wolong Nature Reserve is one of the earliest protected areas established in my country. It was approved as a national-level nature reserve in 1975, and its protected area was expanded from 20,000 hectares to 200,000 hectares. It is the largest giant panda nature reserve in my country. The main protection objects are precious and rare wild animals such as giant pandas and their natural ecosystems. In 1980, it joined the world's "Man and Biosphere Reserve Network" and established the world's only "Giant Panda Conservation Research Center". Dinghu Mountain Nature Reserve Dinghu Mountain is located in the northeastern suburb of Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. It belongs to a southern subtropical mountainous and hilly area. It has a warm and humid climate, surrounded by peaks, green everywhere, and many scenic spots and historic sites. It is a famous nature reserve and tourist attraction in my country, with a total area of more than 17,000 acres. The Tropic of Cancer is located at the boundary of Dinghu Mountain. The original subtropical monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest is still relatively completely preserved and has a history of preservation for 400 years. The ancient trees in the forest reach the sky, blocking out the clouds and sun, forming a wonderful and spectacular green picture. The scenic area has a lot of vegetation, with streams running in springs, and blue waves crisscrossing, providing a good living environment for countless wild animals. It can be called a kingdom of the animal world. Since most of the areas at the same latitude on the earth are deserts or steppes, the lush natural landscape of Dinghu Mountain is extremely rare and is known as the "Oasis on the Tropic of Cancer."
