Gao Junyu On March 5, 1925, Gao Junyu passed away. In 1916, Gao Junyu was admitted to Peking University, where he received enlightenment on new ideas. After the October Revolution, Gao Junyu, Deng Zhongxia, Huang Rikui, Xu Deheng and other classmates often gathered with Li Dazhao to jointly study Marxist theory and the experience of the October Revolution and seek ways and paths to transform China society. During the May 4th Movement, Gao Junyu, one of the leaders of the Peking University Student Union, was the main backbone of this anti-imperialist and patriotic movement. On May 4, he and patriotic students stormed into the house of traitor Cao Rulin, beat up Zhang Zongxiang and set fire to the Cao house in Zhao House. When the movement was suppressed by reactionary warlords, he risked his life and resolutely served as the representative of the Peking University Student Federation in Beijing, leading patriotic students to continue the struggle. In order to further awaken the people, Gao Junyu joined the Civilian Education Lecture Group chaired by Deng Zhongxia in October 1919, and soon became the main backbone and leading member of the group. Together with Deng Zhongxia and others, he first organized lectures in cities, and then organized forces to give lectures in rural areas and factories. In March 1920, under the guidance of Li Dazhao, 19 Peking University students such as Gao Junyu and Deng Zhongxia secretly organized the Marxist Theory Research Society, which was one of the earliest groups in my country to study and publicize Marxism. More than a year later, the association became a group that openly researched and disseminated Marxism at Peking University. He and other members also raised their own funds to organize a library affiliated with the association-"Kang Muni Zhai". While propagating Marxism, Gao Junyu paid great attention to the workers' movement. He often went deep into the workers to conduct surveys and give speeches to inspire workers' consciousness. He and Deng Zhongxia carried out activities in Changxindian, founded schools for workers' children along the Beijing-Han Railway, established workers' clubs and workers' federations, and led the early workers' movement in the north. In October of the same year, the Beijing Communist Group was established, and Gao Junyu was one of the earliest members of this group. Entrusted by the group, he stepped up the preparation of a youth league organization. After a month of hard work, he formed the Beijing Socialist Youth League and was elected as the first secretary. Soon, Gao Junyu was sent to Shanxi to build a socialist youth league. After his patient and meticulous work, the Taiyuan Socialist Youth League was established on May 1, 1921. In order to give the Taiyuan Socialist Youth League a position to publicize revolutionary ideas, Gao Junyu, He Chang, Wang Zhenyi and others reorganized the editorial department of "Civilian Weekly". The restructured "Civilian Weekly" played a major role in promoting Marxism-Leninism and guiding young people to carry out revolutionary struggles. After the founding of the Communist Party of China, in January 1922, Gao Junyu participated in the First Congress of Communist Parties and National Revolutionary Organizations in the Far East held by the Communist International in Moscow as one of the representatives of the Communist Party of China. After returning to China, he attended the First National Congress of the Chinese Socialist Youth League in Guangzhou in May and was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the League. In July, he attended the Second National Congress of the Party, at which he was elected as a member of the Central Committee. In September of the same year, according to the resolution of the party's special meeting on the West Lake, the Central Party organ publication "Guide" was officially published. In February 1923, a general strike broke out among Beijing-Han railway workers. Gao Junyu and others were appointed by the party to lead Changxindian workers in an indomitable struggle against reactionary warlords. On February 7, the direct warlords carried out a barbaric massacre of workers. Gao Junyu was calm, alert and did not flinch. He still ran around to deal with the aftermath of the tragedy. With great indignation at the warlords, he not only wrote an article criticizing the rule of warlords, but also wrote the book "The Blood of Workers in Beijing and Han" with Luo Zhanglong. He wrote a preface entitled "Workers Need a Political Party", calling on workers to continue to fight against warlords under the leadership of the party. In June, Gao Junyu participated in the Party's Third National Congress. The conference determined strategies for cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party and the establishment of a revolutionary united front. After the meeting, Gao Junyu served as a member of the Party Central Committee Education Committee. From then on, he devoted his main energy to the work of establishing a united front. In January 1924, the Kuomintang held its first National Congress. Shortly after the meeting, Gao Junyu was assigned by the Beijing Party Organization to go to Shanxi to prepare for the Party Organization and plan for cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in Shanxi. Later, Gao Junyu was entrusted by the party and served as Sun Yat-sen's secretary. When imperialism supported the reactionary commercial groups in launching a rebellion, Gao Junyu led the industrial group army to fight bravely. During the fierce street fighting, the command vehicle he was riding in was penetrated by bullets. After Gao Junyu was injured, he ignored his personal safety and fought again until victory. Feng Yuxiang launched a "Beijing coup" in October and telegraphed Sun Yat-sen to go north to discuss state affairs. Gao Junyu accompanied Sun Yat-sen to Beijing. Gao Junyu already had lung disease and often had hemoptysis. The intense fighting life in Guangzhou made his body even weaker. Following Sun Yat-sen north, he had a tiring journey and his condition became increasingly serious. After he was hospitalized in Beijing, he was still obsessed with the cause of the party. When his condition improved slightly, he repeatedly requested to be discharged from the hospital. After being discharged from the hospital, he devoted himself to the intensive preparations for the National Conference promotion meeting. On March 1, 1925, the National Congress of the National Assembly Promotion Committee opened, and he was one of the representatives. At this time, he suddenly suffered from acute appendicitis.
