At 10:00 am on January 28, the Zhongshan ship that sank in the middle of the Yangtze River in Jinkou Town, Wuchang, Hubei Province for 58 years finally saw the light of day. At about 10:00 am on January 28, 1997, the first-generation famous ship - Zhongshan ship slowly surfaced in the waters of the Yangtze River near Jinkou Town, Wuchang, Hubei Province. The overall salvage work of the Zhongshan ship that lasted more than 70 days was successfully completed. The Zhongshan ship has extremely special historical value in the modern history of our country and is a precious historical and cultural heritage of the Chinese nation and the people of the world. On April 13, 1925, it was officially named the Zhongshan Ship in memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. On October 24, 1938, the Zhongshan Ship participated in the anti-Japanese battle in Wuhan and was unfortunately blown up and sunk by Japanese planes. During its 25 years of service, it has successively experienced four historical events: the Law Protector Movement, Sun Yat-sen's suffering in Guangzhou, the Zhongshan Ship Incident, and the Wuhan Defense War. It not only records the ups and downs of Mr. Sun Yat-sen's hardships and determination to save the country, but also records his achievements as a pioneer of China's democratic revolution. At the same time, it also reflects the great patriotic spirit of the Chinese nation that is not afraid of rape, resists aggression, and sacrifices heroically. Therefore, the salvage of the Zhongshan Ship has become a project of political significance and far-reaching historical impact. The salvage of the Zhongshan Ship has always been concerned and supported by compatriots at home and abroad. As early as May 1986, there was a motion to salvage the Zhongshan ship; in 1988, Hubei Province began to prepare for salvage; at the end of last year, Hubei Province established a leading group for salvage work headed by Li Daqiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and executive vice governor; on November 12 last year, the salvage work officially began. The salvage task is the Chongqing Yangtze River Rescue Company. In order to ensure the salvage work is foolproof, they have sent more than 70 divers to dive nearly 100 times to inspect and measure, and hundreds of salvage personnel participated in the work. It is reported that after the Zhongshan ship is out of the water, it will be moved to the Hubei Shipyard 18 kilometers downstream to take a scientific method and carry out a comprehensive repair according to the principle of "the old as the old". At the same time, 3,000 acres of land will be planned in Jinkou, Wuchang, where the Zhongshan ship sank, and a comprehensive display base for the Zhongshan ship will be built.
